The building of Nurmahal police station has become very poor.
The flouring has sunk causing difficulty in movement.
Recently Station House Officer was forced to shift his office to another room as his office flour sunk causing difficulty in movement and posing a risk at any time.
During recent rains the roof leaked damaging documents and other essential items.
Necessary repair work should be carried out to ensure the safety of the staff and the public visiting the station
In the year 2006 police station Nurmahal was in a private building. People of the town took the initiative and donated six kanals of 18 marlas land belonging to Patti for the city and spent Rs. 25.00 lakhs to construct the building for police station Nurmahal. However, government authorities took no further action to complete the building. The 6 kanals and 14 marlas land stand mutated in the name of common owners.
As a result, even after the lapse of 19 years, the police department could not give last touches to thebuilding because the land could not be mutated in favour of the police department.
transferring 6 kanals 18 marlas land to the police department for the construction of the building for Nurmahal police station which has been rejected by director local governmentResidents repeatedly urged the then Chief Ministers P.S.Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Charanjit Singh Channi, and Chief Minster Bhagwant Singh Mann to approve the resolution so that mutation of land is sanctioned in favour of the Punjab Police for completing the building of the police station but to no avail.
On the spot, the study revealed that construction of barracks for cops, boundary walls, flooring, and parking spaces for impounded vehicles are needed.
