The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a mother son duo on the charges of kidnapping and selling newborn babies.
Investigation officer (IO) and in- charge Uggi police post Angrej Singh said that the accused have been identified as Rannjit Kaur wife of Rajindar Singh a resident of Manjit Nagar Ludhiana and her son Jagjit Singh.
IO said a social activist has informed the police that the accused Jagjit Singh has formed a gang and kidnaps newly born babies in his Innova car and sell them in lakhs of rupees.
IO said a case under sections 143(4,5) (trafficking of person),61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS and section 80 of J.J. Act (juvenile justice )2015 has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
