Cabinet Ministers urge students to use education as catalyst for socio-economic change

JALANDHAR

Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Barinder Goyal, Hardeep Mundian and Mohinder Bhagat on Sunday called upon students to harness education as a transformative force capable of reshaping Punjab’s socio-economic landscape. The ministers were speaking at a scholarship distribution ceremony organised at DAVIET by the Shri Ram Navami Utsav Committee, where 1,300 students from across the state were awarded scholarships and study material.

Commending the initiative, Aman Arora lauded the committee led by Punjab Kesari Group Chief Editor Vijay Kumar Chopra for consistently supporting underprivileged students through its annual programme. Mr. Arora highlighted the Punjab Government’s renewed focus on strengthening education and health sectors, asserting that these reforms are central to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of building a “Rangla Punjab.” He said such initiatives complement government efforts to ensure equitable access to quality education. Echoing similar sentiments, Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO, Barinder Goyal, Hardeep Mundian and Mohinder Bhagat urged students to pursue excellence in academics to uplift not only themselves but their families and communities. They described the scholarship programme as a model intervention that empowers deserving students by providing crucial academic support. The ministers encouraged the youth to stay committed to their goals and contribute meaningfully to society, praising the organisers for their sustained dedication to this noble cause. Mayor Vineet Dhir, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, were present.
