The Nurmahal police have booked a farmer on the charge of burning paddy stubble fields.
Investigating Officer (IO) Jai Gopal said that the alleged accused has been identified as Mangal Singh son of Darshan Singh a resident of Gorsian Peeran village.
IO said the concerned nodal officer has sent his report to the police which was verified and examined at the places of occurrence.
IO stated that the accused had set fire to his paddy stubble fields, violating the government order in this regard, and polluted the atmosphere.
A case under section 223(disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
The Shahkot police booked farmer Jagga Singh son of Kehar Singh of Sadik Pur village for burning paddy stubble fields, said IO Major Singh.
