The Mehat Pur police have booked unidentified miscreants on the charge of outraging religious feelings, affray, and brandishing arms.
Sunil Kumar, a resident of Vadda Vehara Mehat Pur, complained to the police that two accused, in an inebriated condition, barged into their locality brandishing arms, on October 14 late evening, smashed the electric ornamental strings outside Valmik temple, used cattiest remarks, and issued threats.
Investigating Officer Kashmir Singh said a case under section 298(injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 194(2) (affray) of the BNS and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused
