Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today directed the Public Works Department (PWD) toensure the timely completion of the four-lining of the Lamma Pind–Jandu Singha Road by the end of November 2025. Chairing a review meeting at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for expeditious execution of the remaining work to provide smooth and safe passage for commuters traveling between Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur. Dr. Aggarwal informed that the 5-kilometer stretch is being upgraded for Rs.. 11.80 crore. He said the completion of this project will greatly benefit residents and travelers by offering a direct and hassle-free route between the two cities, eliminating the need for a detour through Rama Mandi. PWD officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner that the base work on the road has already been completed, and bitumen laying will begin shortly. The construction of the central verge is also underway and is expected to be completed soon. The DC’s directions are aimed at ensuring the timely delivery of the project, which will significantly improve traffic movement and commuter convenience in the region.
