Chetna educational tour: students made aware of functioning of government departments

 

JALANDHAR:

 Under the unique initiative “Chetna Educational Tour” to make students aware of the working of government

various government offices in Jalandhar. They were given detailed information about government services and administrative systems. After the educational tour, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal met the students at the District Administrative Complex and asked them about the knowledge and experiences gained during the tour.

Dr. Aggarwal urged the students to share the information about departmental functioning and services with their families and classmates so that in the future, whenever they or their family members visit any government office, they are fully aware of the process and can get their work done without any hindrance. He said that the purpose of this initiative is to create awareness among students about government departments and familiarize them closely with administrative procedures. He added that through such visits, students not only gain insights into the work and services of government departments but also develop a sense of responsibility as citizens. Wishing the students success in their future, the Deputy Commissioner said that such Chetna Educational Tours will continue regularly. During the tour, students visited the District Employment and Business Bureau, Sewa Kendra, Patwar Khana, Sub-Registrar’s office, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan, among other government offices. The students also learned about property registration processes, lal lakir (red line land demarcation), fard (land records), intkal (mutation), wills, affidavits, driving licenses, caste certificates, income certificates, etc. A special career counselling session was also conducted for the students at the District Employment and Business Bureau. In addition, information about the Post-Matric Scholarship was shared with the students, and they were also apprised about coaching classes being run at Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan for competitive examinations.

 

Sharing their views, the students said that through this tour, they got the opportunity to understand the office procedures of departments, which they would also share with their peers and family members.
