The Mehat Pur police has booked a thief on charge of stealing utensils from a village gurdwara.
Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Robin Masih son of Santokh Masih of Kaimwala village.
Sarpanch of Umrewal village Gurindar Singh complained to the police that the accused stole three big utensils from store of Gurdwara Sahib.
IO said that a case under sections 298(injuring or defiling place of worship with intention to insult the religion of any class),331(4) (house breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) and 305 (theft in dwelling house) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
The police also booked thief Ranjit Singh of Mehmu Wal village in Shahkot subdivision for stealing mobile tower batteries
