JALANDHAR
The National Lok Adalat was held today at Judicial Court Complexes in Jalandhar, Phillaur, and Nakodar. All categories of cases, including civil, matrimonial, MACT, compoundable criminal matters, traffic challans, pre-litigative disputes of banks, financial institutions, BSNL, PSPCL, and revenue-related cases, were taken up in the Lok Adalat. Sharing details. District and Sessions Nirbhow Singh Gill informed that 26 benches were constituted across Jalandhar, Phillaur, and Nakodar. A total of 53,083 cases were taken up, out of which 52,238 were successfully disposed of through compromise, resulting in settlement awards worth Rs. 130.18 crore. Both N.S. Gill and Rahul Kumar, Secretary, DLSA Jalandhar, inspected the benches in Jalandhar during the proceedings. Emphasizing the significance of such forums, the Chairman of DLSA stated that Lok Adalats provide speedy justice as decisions are based on mutual compromise, are final, and cannot be appealed. He added that Lok Adalats not only foster brotherhood but also ensure refund of court fees to applicants. He also announced that the next Lok Adalat will be held on December 13, 2025
