Two accused booked for raping girl, making  videos viral

 

NURMAHAL

The Nurmahal police have booked two accused on the charges of raping a girl, giving her intoxicants, and videotaping the crime and making it viral on social media.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Prabhjit Singh, son of Avtar Singh, a resident of Taj City colony, Nakodar, and  Inderjit Singh, son of Palwindar Singh, a resident of Kanganni Wal village under Sadar Jalandhar police station.

The victim complained to the Senior Superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that the accused had induced her and given her some intoxicants and forcibly raped her, recorded her obscene photos, and repeatedly raped her by threatening to make her videos viral on social media and posted these on social media.

DSP said a case under section 64(2) (rape), 61(2)(criminal conspiracy), 351(2(criminal intimidation) of the BNS and sections 67 and 67(a) of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused, and raids are being conducted to nab them.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab State Women's Commission had issued a notice to SSP Jalandhar (rural) in this regard and directed to take action against the accused.
