The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of selling illicit country-made pistols.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Vishal, son of Paramjit Singh, a resident of Mohalla Sonia near Bhagat Singh Chowk furniture bazar, Kartar Pur, and Navi Hans (juvenile-16 years), son of Jogindar Pal, a resident of Sami Pur village under Lambarra police station. DSP said the accused indulged in bringing illicit firearms from Madhya Pradesh and selling them in Punjab and were coming to Nakodar for the supply of illicit pistols, and were arrested at a special Naka near Uggi. DSP said two illicit country-made pistols (32 bore) and Rs 26,500 in illegal money were recovered from their possession, and a case under sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused, and assistant sub-inspector Janak Raj is conducting further investigation.
