The Shahkot police have busted a gang of criminals with the arrest of its four members.
Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhwindar Singh stated that the accused have been identified as Satta, son of Amar Singh; Simranjit Singh, alias Yadu, son of Gurnam Singh; Mehar Singh, son of Bhajan Singh; and Rajveer Singh, all residents of Toti village in Kapurthala.
IO said that the police have received information that the accused have formed a gang and are indulging in acts of looting and theft, and selling drugs.
IO said 180 intoxicant tablets (loose), sharp-edged weapons, one air gun, and a swift car (damaged in an accident) were recovered from their possession.
IO said a case under sections 310(4),310() (making preparation to commit dacoity and assembling for this act) of the BNS and sections 21/22/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and Sonu Giani of Toti village who is absconding.
