Seven booked for murder bid, dowry harassment


SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked seven persons, including three women, on charges of murder bid and

dowry harassment.

 Investigating Officer (IO) Major Singh said the accused have been identified as Himanshu, son of Surindar Kumar, a resident of Dane Wal village, his mother Gurbaksh Kaur, sisters Harpreet Kaur and Samayal, and his brother Aniket Baba Bagu, a resident of Gillan village and Doctor Saleem, a resident of Bhadman village

Prabhjot Kaur, wife of Himanshu and daughter of Dharam Pal, a resident of Eeda village, has complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (rural), that the accused tortured her for dowry. She said the accused gave her intoxicant tablets, wrenched her fingers, threw her down from the roof of the house, and threatened her.  

 

IO said a case under sections 109(attempt to murder ), 74(assault or use of force to a woman with intent tooutrage her modesty), 85(husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty ), 123(causing harm through poison, etc, with intent to commit crime) 61(2) (criminal conspiracy ) and 190(unlawful assembly ) of the BNS  has been registered against the accused after an inquiry. No arrests have been made, and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
