The Shahkot police have booked a resident on charges of breach of trust and cheating.
Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhmindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Rannjodh Singh,
son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Mohalla Dherian, Shahkot
Suresh Chandar, a resident of Vikas Nagar, Shahkot, complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent ofpolice that the accused signed an agreement with him for selling his 1 marla shop and received Rs 31 lakhs for the sale, but did not register the sale deed, thus cheating him and threatening him with dire consequences.
IO said that a case under sections 316(2)(breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducingdelivery of property), and 351(2)(criminal intimidation) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
