The Shahkot police have arrested six villagers, including two women, on the charge of assaulting a co-villager woman.
Investigating officer (IO) Sukhwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurmukh Singh, son of Gurdial Singh, a resident of Reharrwan village, his wife Bindar Kaur,, his brother Gurmail Singh, his son Rajindar Singh, his nephew Narindar Singh, and Lovepreet Kaur, daughter of Gurbag Singh, a resident of the same village.
Binder Kaur (55), a resident of the same village, had complained to the police that the accused barged into her house on November 18 late evening,2024, and attacked her and family members with weapons and seriously injured them, adding that a land dispute was the reason behind the attack.
and 190 (unlawful assembly) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
