NAKODAR
The Nakodar City police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of attacking a police officer.Investigating officer (IO) Rajindar Pal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amanveer Singh, son of Pal Singh, a resident of Merra Pur village, and Gurveer Singh, son of Mandeep Singh, a resident ofthe same village.
Amrik Singh, assistant sub-inspector of traffic staff in Jalandhar (rural) had said in his statement that he was on duty with his staff near Sharak Pur village on Shankar-Nakodar Road and was checking vehicles and their drivers with an Alcometer.
He said that the accused Mandeep Singh came driving his scooter from the Shankar village side in an inebriated condition, and when he tried to check the accused with Alcometer accused started misbehaving with police and used abusive language and phoned other accused who reached the spot and attacked him, and his colleagues tore their uniforms snatched a smartphone and threatened them.
