The Nurmahal police have booked a tractor driver on the charge of attempted murder.
Investigating Officer (IO) Davindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Shamindar Singh alias Shinda, son of Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Nur Pur Chatha village in Nakodar
Manjit Singh, a resident of Mohalla Bhagat Singh Nagar near railway road, Nakodar, complained to the police that he was returning home from Ludhiana on his moped on July 4 when the accused tractor driver struck him on Nurmahal Nakodar road near a religious place, and was caught between the rear tyre and the rotavator attached to the tractor and was dragged and seriously injured.
IO said that a case under section 109(attempt to murder) and 324(4) (mischief) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
