Migrant among two travel agents, booked for duping a Shahkot resident of Rs. 18 lakhs

The Lohian Khas booked two travel agents, including a migrant, on charges of allegedly duping a Shahkot village resident of Rs 18 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad.
Investigating Officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Alfak Ahmad, son of Firoj Ansari, a resident of U.P., and Kamaljit Singh, son of Hari Singh a resident of Seeche Wal village.
Bhuoindar Singh, a resident of Seeche Wal village, complained to Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that he had paid Rs 18 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad. However, neither did the accused send him abroad, nor did they return the money.
IO said a case under sections 316 (2) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating), and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry, and further investigation was in progress.
