The Shahkot police have booked four persons, including a couple, on the charge of assaulting a woman and criminal intimidation.
Investigating officer (IO) Sukhwindar Pal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Pipal Singh, a
resident of Gulaba village in Feroze Pur, his wife Kailash Ranni, Harprit, wife of Ramesh Singh, a resident of Raja Pur village, Lidhiana, and Channa, also of the same village
Jagiro Bai, wife of Shinga Singh, a resident of Thamu Wal village, complained to the police that the accused waylaid and attacked her with weapons on June 6 in the village and injuring r and threatening her.
IO said that a case under sections 115 (2), .117 (2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt),351(3) ( criminal intimidation), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 324 (4)( mischief) and 3(5)(committing crime with common intention ) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
The Bilga police booked an NRI woman, Manjit Kaur, and a resident of Nagra village, her husband, SawanSingh, and their two accomplices for assaulting Ram Aasra of the same village, said IO Vijay Kumar.
The police also booked Sukha, his wife Balwindar Kaur, residents of Farwala village, and their four accomplices for assaulting Mahant Gurpreet Dass of the same village, said IO Charanjit Singh
