The Lohian Khas police have booked six members of the family, including four women on the charges of snatching, criminal trespass, and criminal intimidation.
Investigating Officer (IO) Avtar Singh said the accused has been identified as Gurmej Kaur wife of Jagir Singh a resident of Sher Pur Tyba village under Dharam Kot police station in Moga, his sons Balwindar Singh and Harjindar Singh, and daughters Simar Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, and Sumanpreet Kaur.
Sandeep Singh a resident of Dharamkot, complained to the police that his father-in-law’s family had brought about three acres of Land in Mianni village under the Lohian police station, and he is looking after the land and has filed an application for land demarcation.
He said Kanogo and Patwari reached the spot for demarcation, but the accused started abusing them and issued threats to kill them and tried to set their vehicle afire. and stopped
from conducting demarcation and snatching a motorcycle from them.
IO said a case under sections 304(snatching ) ,(329(3) (criminal trespass)126(2)( wrongful restraint) 351(2) (criminal intimidation ) 191(3) (rioting being armed with deadly weapons ) 190( unlaw full assembly ) of
the BNS has been registered against the accused
