The Mehat Pur police have arrested a notorious criminal on charges of kidnapping a woman and criminal intimidation.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sukhwindar Singh alias Sukha, son of Joga Singh a resident of Bangi Wal village,
Surjit Kaur, wife of Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Sohal Khlasa village had complained to the police that the accused had kidnapped her sister Simarjit Kaur, living with her, and threatened her with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 140(1) (kidnapping or abducting to murder, etc), and 351(2)( criminal intimidation) of the BNS was registered against the accused, and two cases are pending against him, and the kidnapped woman has been rescued.
