The Mehat Pur police have arrested a couple on the charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and insulting her religion.
Investigating officer (IO) Jaspal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurjit Singh, son of Hansa Singh, a resident of Rai Pur Gujran village, and his wife Anju
Raj Kaur, wife of Paramjit Singh, a resident of the same village, complained to the police that the accused had assaulted, beaten her, pulled out her hair, torn her clothes, and threatened her with dire consequences.
