The Shahkot police have arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling heroin.
Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhwinder Singh said that 35 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of the accused, identified as Jatindar son of Surindar Pal, and Paramjit Singh alias Pamma son of Jogindar Singh, both residents of Sham Pur village under Bilga police station.
IO said a case under sections 21-B/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded their motorcycle.
The Mehat Pur police arrested a woman drug peddler, Balwindar Kaur, wife of Bhagat Ram of Bute Dian Chhana village, with 8.60 grams of heroin and 40 intoxicant tablets, said IO Jaspal Singh. The police also arrested drug peddlers Jaspreet alias Karan, son of Satnam and Ravi Pal alias Sunni, son of Kasturi Lal, residents of Sahrihn village under Nakodar Sadar police station, with 2.39 heroin,40 intoxicant tablets, said IO Gurnam Singh.
The Nurmahal police arrested three drug peddlers: Lovpreet Lal, son of Charanjit of Kot Badal khan village, Lovpreet, son of Gurmit of Fateh Pur village, and Amrit Apl, son of Hoshiar Singh of Kot Badal Khan village, with 151 intoxicant tablets, said SHO Krishan Gopal.
