The Bilga police have booked a mother-son duo and a member panchayat on the charge of murdering a co-villager.
Station House Officer (SHO) Palwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Pushpa Ranni, wife of Jogindar Ram a resident of Ladharr Kalan village, her son Manpreet alias Gaggi, and Jagtar alias Beru, son of Gursem Ram, a resident of the same village and member panchayat
SHO said the accused murdered Lovdeep alias Labha, son of Harbhajan Ram of Ladharr village, on May 22.
Jeeto, the mother of the deceased, complained to the police that the accused had threatened to kill Labha on May 21 and 22 and beat him to death, and her son’s body was found in their motor on May 22 evening. She said the accused also used filthy language and insulted her.
SHO said a case under sections 103 (murder), 79(words, gestures or acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 3(5) ( committing the crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and handed over the body to the family after postmortem. No arrest has been made, and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
