The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested three thieves for stealing batteries from mobile towers.
Investigating officer (IO) and Uggi police post in-charge Lovleen Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, son of Harbans Singh, Surjit Singh, son of Balwindar Singh, and Hardeep Singh, son of Jaspal Singh, all residents of Nur Pur Chatha village.
Pawan Kumar, a resident of Basti Danshmandan, Jalandhar, has complained to the police that the accused stole batteries from the mobile towers of Vodafone Airtel and Idea companies.
Investigating Officer said that a case under sections 305 (theft in dwelling house or means of transport) and 331(4) (lurking house trespass), and 3(5) (committing crime with common intention) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
