The Shahkot police have arrested two thieves on the charge of stealing cash and CCTVs from a village religious place.
Investigating officer (IO said that the accused has been identified as Palwindar Singh, son of Jasveer Singh, and Jaswindar Singh, son of Ranjit Singh, residents of Punia village.
Aman, wife of Balveer Mohamad, a resident of Reharrwan village, complained to the police that the accused barged into Baba Fakar ji Darbar, Punian village on May 10 and stole Rs 10000 cash and CCTVs
IO said that a case under sections 331(4) (house breaking by night to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment) and 305 (theft in a place of worship) of the BNS has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is on.
The police also booked Gurpreet Singh, son of Balwindar Singh, a resident of Nagal Ambian village, for stealing Rs 10,000 from the house of Suman, a resident of the same village, said IO Sukhmindar Singh
