DC, CP reviews security readiness amid emerging situation

 Given the emerging security situation, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain today held a high-level meeting at the Integrated Command and Control Centre to review law and order arrangements across the district.

Addressing the officials, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Aggarwal reiterated the firm commitment of the Punjab Government,  to ensure the safety of residents.
He emphasized that the district is under close surveillance from the Integrated Command and Control Centre, and that a dedicated control room has been established to address public concerns. Citizens can report any suspicious drone activity or other issues by calling 0181-2224417.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to all security protocols, especially blackout guidelines aimed at public safety. He states that people should avoid unnecessary movement and stay inside their homes. He strongly cautioned against the spread of misinformation, stating that the administration is monitoring social media platforms closely and stern action will be taken against those spreading fake news. He also directed officials to crack down on hoarding and black-marketing, while urging residents to avoid panic buying.

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur assured that police teams are actively deployed to safeguard the city. She urged citizens to report any emergency by dialling 112 and extended an appeal for public cooperation in maintaining peace and order.

The joint efforts of the civil and police administration reaffirm the Punjab Government’s resolve to handle the situation proactively, ensuring that law and order remain intact while safeguarding the public interest.
