The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager and booked another villager on the charge of gang-raping a minor.
Investigating officer (IO) Inspector Seema said that the arrested accused has been identified as Bobbi Singh son of Sukhdev Singh alias Sukha a resident of Umre Wal village and booked accused has been identified as Gurwindar Singh son of Paramjit Singh a resident of Vehran village.
The victim (17) complained to the police that the accused gave her lift on the promise to drop her in her in her village but misled her to another village and locked her in a room where the accused Bobbi forcibly raped her and second accused stood guard outside room.
IO said that a case under section 70(2) (gang rape on woman under the age of eighteen) of the BNS and section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to arrested the absconding accused.
