NURMAHAL /NAKODAR

The Bilga police have recovered a huge quantity of heroin on demarcation of a smuggler.

Phillaur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Swarann Singh Bal said that the accused has been identified as Vijay Kumar alias Laddu son of Jagdish Kumar a resident of Hardial Nagar Jalandhar who was behind bars and brought on production warrants from Kapurthala jail.

DSP said the police had arrested two drug peddlers with 122 grams heroin on April 6 who told during interrogation that they brought contraband from Vijay.

Vijay told the police during interrogation that rest of heroin is lying with his brother-in-law Lakhveer Singh alias Gora a resident of Kandola Khurd village which was recovered   from the house.

Lakhveer Singh and kulwindar Kaur were arrested on April 6 with 112 grams heroin and a case under section 21/B/29 /61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused and Vijay kumar has been arrested in this case who is notorious smugger and 13 cases of drugs are pending against him in different police stations

The Nakodar Sadar police also arrested a woman drug peddler on the charge of selling intoxicant tablets.

Investigating Officer (IO)Major Singh said 39 intoxicant tablets(loose) were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Pallo wife of Karnail Ram resident of Thabalke village
