JALANDHAR
SSP Harvinder Singh Virk, Jalandhar Rural has been honoured with the Director General of Police (DGP) Disc for the 9th time for his excellent and dedicated service. This honour is a testament to his excellent and dedicated service in the police department.
For his excellent performance in Punjab Police and also for playing an important role in bringing Romi, the mastermind of the 2016 Nabha jail break incident, to India from Hong Kong, SSP . Harvinder Singh Virk was earlier honoured with the DGP Disc for the 8th time. In view of this excellent performance, he was also honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
It is noteworthy that from 2016 to 2024, the prosecution of the Nabha Jail Break case was entrusted to SSP Harvinder Singh Virk by the DGP Punjab. He visited Hong Kong several times and after completing all the legal procedures, he succeeded in bringing the accused Romi to India.
SSP Virk has been also served as DCP Investigation and AIG in Jalandhar he also served as SSP in Tran Taran. He has investigated many sensational cases and brought the accused to justice. His ability, determination and honesty in investigation have always proven him to be an exemplary officer.
He has also been awarded the President's Police Medal on 26 January 2024 and the Chief Minister's Medal in 2017
