The Nakodar City police have arrested to miscreants on the charges of snatching cash and mobile phone from women.
Investigating Officer (IO) Jagtar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Rohit alias Bacha son of Kashmir Singh a resident of Mohalla Azad Nagar Nakodar and Laki alias Daku son of Mangi a resident of Malrri village.
Neelam Ranni a resident of Mohalla Baghiarr Pura Nakodar complained to the police that she was returning home on March 24 late evening when the accused waylaid her near a marriage palace and snatched Rs 7000 and other documents from her and snatched a smart phone from her daughter at point of sharp-edged weapons.
IO said a case under sections 309(4) (robbery) and 3(5) (committing crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and their accomplice Joban son of Lakhveer Singh a resident of Malrri village who is absconding. IO said a sharp-edged weapon has been recovered and impounded a motor cycle used in the crime adding that the accused are habitual criminals and cases are pending against them.
