NAKODAR
The Nakodar City police have booked a travel agent couple for allegedly duping a Nakodar village resident of Rs.16 lakhs on the pretext of sending his nephews abroad.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Nirwair Singh son of Gurpal Singh a resident of Rurri Wal village under Chohla Sahib police station in Tarn Taran and his wife Paramjit Kaur .
Amandeep Singh a resident of Pandori Khas village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 16 lakhs to the accused for facilitating migration of nephews abroad but the accused did not sent them abroad not returned the money .

DSP said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating),465,468,471(fraud)) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry adding case has been registered under sections of IPC as incident occurred in the past
