The Jalandhar District Administration has approved five incentive cases worth ₹3,79,13,041 under the Industrial and Business Development Policy, providing financial relief to local businesses. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, where exemptions/reimbursement in CLU fees and State GST were sanctioned for eligible firms.
Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to strengthening the state's industrial growth. To further streamline business operations, he announced the establishment of a single-window system at DBEE premises situated on the third floor of the District Administration Complex. The DC said that officials from various departments will remain present every Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM to facilitate industrial representatives, ensuring quick redressal of their concerns. He urged the representatives of various Industries to reach out this new mechanism for swift resolution of their issues.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed several key industrial issues and directed officials to conduct on-site visits to different industrial areas for effective resolution in consultation with industry representatives. The issues discussed included establishment of a new power substation for industries, enhanced police patrolling to safeguard workers,
Installation of CCTV cameras at critical locations, development of a new Industrial Park and fire station, setting up a new skill development centre, besides others.
Dr. Aggarwal instructed officials to engage with industrial associations before drafting a comprehensive project report. These initiatives are expected to boost industrial infrastructure and ease of doing business in Jalandhar, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to economic development.
