The Shahkot police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) on the charges of fraud and criminal conspiracy.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said that the accused have been identified Bachan Singh son of Ghuda Singh a resident of Bajwa Kalan village.
Ajaib Singh a resident of Dhando Wal village had complained to the senior supervenient of police Jalandhar (rural) that the accused and his accomplices hatched a conspiracy and prepared a fake agreement to usurp his land and committed an act of fraud.
DSP said that a case under sections 420(cheating),465,467,468,471(fraud), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused on December 25 2022 and was declared a PO on January 10 2025.
