NAKODAR

The Mehat Pur police have arrested two miscreants on the charges of injuring and defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class.

Station house officer (SHO) Sikandar Singh said the accused have been identified as Arash Deep Singh Arash son of Harmesh Singh a resident of Aadramaan village and his brother Karandeep Singh alias Karan

Navdeep Kumar a resident of Mohalla Shadi Khan Mehat Pur complained to the police that the unidentified accused uprooted flags installed in the town in connection with celebration of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj ji .

SHO said a case under section 298(injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) and 3(5) (committing crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and Assistant Sub Inspector Balkar Singh is conducting further investigations.
