Kartarpur Police Station of Jalandhar Rural Police has solved a robbery case within 24 hours, recovering Rs. 2 lakh and seizing the vehicle used in the crime.
The arrested accused have been identified as Karanjit Singh, son of Mukhtar Singh, resident of Chhabalwadi, village Khilachia police station , Amritsar, and Satnam Singh, son of Sohan Lal, resident of Bachde village Tarn Taran city police station .
Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that following the report of the robbery, special teams were immediately constituted to track down the perpetrators.
The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Jasroop Kaur Bath Superintendent of Police (Investigation), and Mr. Surinder Pal DSP Kartarpur. The investigating team was led by SHO of Kartarpur Police Station.
SSP said on January 30, at around 5:00 AM, the complainant Arman Sood, son of Ramesh Sood, resident of Bhikhiwind Road, was standing near Vaishno Dhaba with his brother Rishav Sood. The victim, who was preparing to travel to Australia, was carrying his passport and Rs. 3 lakh in cash. Two individuals in an Alto car (PB02-EQ-3186) threatened the victim and fled with the money and passport.
SSP said the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had carefully planned the robbery after identifying their target. They had been monitoring the movement of people carrying substantial amounts of cash in the area. The Alto car used in the crime was also recovered, which has provided additional leads for investigating similar incidents in the region.
