JALANDHAR
A contingent of 35 senior division cadets of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion performed brilliantly in the Republic Day parade in Jalandhar district. The NCC contingent was commanded by Under Officer Kargildeep Mandal of Doaba College. All the senior division cadets who participated in the parade were felicitated with NCC tracksuits and Commanding Officer Commendation certificate. Colonel Vinod Joshi and Subedar Major Gulzar Singh distributed tracksuits and certificates to all the cadets at the battalion headquarters. Colonel Joshi said that the chief guest of the Republic Day, Cabinet Minister of the Punjab Government, Sh. Aman Arora took the salute from the stage from all the military and student contingents. Dr. Himanshu Agarwal , Deputy Commissioner was present on the stage. The NCC contingent consisted of cadets from seven colleges and one school. Twenty days training had been given to cadets to participate in the Republic Day parade. The Chief Guest presented trophies and certificates to cadets for their excellent performance. Commanding Officer Colonel Joshi said that the young and enthusiastic cadets were prepared for the drill by Subedar Chandrabhan and CHM Gurucharan Singh. Colonel Joshi said that every year on Independence Day and Republic Day, two contingents of NCC participate in the drill parade, which includes cadets from Girls Battalion and 2 Punjab NCC Battalion.
