The crime branch of Jalandhar (rural) police has arrested a father-son duo for robbery.
Investigating Officer (IO) Rasham Singh said the accused had been identified as Raj Kumar son of Sucha Ram a resident of Said Pur Jhirri village and his son Rajvir Singh alias Rohit.
IO said the police had received information that the accused robbed travelers at the point of the pistol stole jewellery from houses and were carrying a pistol and were arrested while patrolling and recovered a pistol 7.65 mm and two live cartridges.
IO said a case under section 309(3) (robbery) and 305-A(theft in dwelling house )of the BNS and section 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and Sharanjit Singh alias Sonu son of Bahadur Singh of Said Pur Jhiri who supplied illicitly illegal weapons to the accused at Mehat Pur police station .
