Moga transporter arrested for endangering life

 

NAKODAR /SHAHKOT

The Mehat Pur police have arrested a Moga district Transporter for endangering life.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said the accused has been identified as Ravinder Singh Sandhu alias Binda Sarpanch son of Karnail Singh Sandhu Sarpanch a resident of Kokri Kalan village in Moga district.

Sonu Tomar manager of Chak Bahmania Toll Plaza had complained to Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police that the accused is the owner of Anhad Transport, and his five trucks pass the toll plaza almost daily.

The complainant had said when his employees ask to pay toll tax vehicle drivers use abusive language and threaten to crush them under their trucks.

Sonu Tomar had said truck owner Ravinder Singh used abusive language against place employees and threatened to kill them at the point of a gun and said his vehicle would continue to pass breaking the barrier.

The complainant had said this is causing revenue loss and incidents recorded in CCTV cameras and demanded legal action against the erring transporter.

 

DSP said a case under sections 125 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act were registered against the accused at Shahkot police station and recovered a rifle 315 bore from his possession and impounded his vehicle. DSP said the accused is a notorious criminal and 16 cases are pending against the accused in different police stations
