NAKODAR
The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a cooperative bank branch manager for embezzling customers' money.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh the investigating officer in this case, said the accused has been identified as Davender Pal Singh son of Kewal Singh a resident of Shankar village.
District Manager Cooperative Bank complained to Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that the accused worked as manager of Cooperative bank Brach Shankar village from July 15 2023 to October 3 2023 and fraudulently withdrew Rs 5 Lakhs 09540 from accounts of bank customers which has been recovered from the accused.
DSP said an inquiry was conducted and sent to SSP who ordered the registration of the case after the district attorney's opinion.
A case under section 409(criminal breach of trust by public servants) and 419 ( cheating by personation ) of the IPC and sections 13(1) 13(20 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused
