Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today finalized arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium. Chairing a high-level meeting with officials from various departments, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the significance of the event, urging the administration to ensure flawless execution.
Dr. Aggarwal stated that Republic Day must be celebrated with the utmost patriotic spirit, as it holds immense importance in our lives. During the meeting, he reviewed critical arrangements, including a traffic diversion plan, drinking water availability, parking facilities, mobile toilets, and transport for participating students. The Deputy Commissioner instructed PSPCL officials to guarantee uninterrupted power supply at the stadium throughout the event.
, Dr. Aggarwal directed the health department to deploy medical teams comprising doctors and paramedics to handle any emergencies. He also stressed the need for strict adherence to VVIP protocols to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. He also took stock of the display of achievements through tableaux. He also announced that the best tableau would be rewarded with a cash prize at the end of the event.
In another review, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Police department to strengthen security arrangements in the city, especially around the venue. He also asked to deploy proper police personnel at the Stadium for the smooth conduct of the event. The Deputy Commissioner asked the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to decorate key intersections and chowks in the city with a patriotic theme to mark the occasion. He announced that the full-dress rehearsal would take place on January 24.
Dr. Aggarwal urged officials to carry out their responsibilities diligently, ensuring the success of the district-level Republic Day celebrations. The event is expected to showcase the spirit of unity and patriotism, reflecting the importance of this historic day.
