D.C. reviews new ramp design for PAP Chowk Flyover

JALANDHAR
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today reviewed the proposed design for a new ramp at the PAP Chowk Flyover, prepared by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The design aims to resolve the traffic challenges faced by commuters traveling toward Amritsar and Pathankot.
At a meeting held at the District Administrative Complex, Dr. Aggarwal, along with SDM Adampur Vivek Kumar Modi, Assistant Commissioner Sunil Phogat, SDM Randeep Singh Heer, and officials from NHAI and related departments, emphasized the need for smooth traffic flow at PAP Chowk. He highlighted the importance of providing hassle-free access to Amritsar and Pathankot road for city residents.
Dr. Aggarwal stated that once the proposed plan is approved by senior authorities, the longstanding traffic issues at this busiest junction, which connects traffic from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, can be resolved effectively.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the work to widen the Adampur Flyover and the approach road to Adampur Airport into a four lane road. Officials apprised him that the work on the approach road is nearly complete.
NHAI officials brought attention to the issue of waterlogging at Focal Point and Transport Nagar due to sewage problems. In response, Dr. Aggarwal instructed Jalandhar Municipal Corporation officials to visit the affected areas and address the issue promptly.
The meeting was attended by officials from Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, the Public Works Department, PSPCL, and NHAI.
