The Lohian Khas police have booked a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for cheating.
Investigating officer (IO) Balveer Chand said the accused had been identified as Joga Singh, son of Mehanga Singh, a resident of Bilga village who is now living in England.
Lachhmann Singh a resident of Kakarr Kalan village complained to the police the accused had signed an agreement to sell 21 Kanals and 4 marlas of Land and received from him Rs 13.99 Lakhs money as advance but did not register the sale agreement and sold land to another person and thus cheated him.
IO said a case under sections 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the IPC has been registered against the accused as the incident occurred in the past.
