Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today honoured 27 officers from various departments who played a key role in significantly reducing stubble-burning incidents in the district over the past year.
While presenting appreciation certificates to the officers, the Deputy Commissioner commended their valuable contributions to stubble management. He shared that in 2023, the district reported 1,196 cases of stubble burning, which saw an 87 percent decrease in 2024.
Congratulating the honoured officers, Dr. Aggarwal stated that the district administration's multi-pronged strategy and teamwork across departments led to the success of reducing stubble-burning cases compared to previous years. He acknowledged the officers for not only performing their duties but also contributing to environmental preservation.
He encouraged the officers to continue their duties with the same zeal and dedication and assured that the district administration would leave no stone unturned in bringing stubble-burning cases to zero in the coming years. He also praised farmers who refrained from burning stubble.
