The Mehat Pur police have arrested a thief and booked another on the charge of stealing garlic bags and a motorcycle.
Investigating Officer (IO)Balkar Singh said the accused has been identified as Sandeep Singh alias Soni son of Gurdev Singh a resident of Rai Pur Arian village.
Surjit Singh a resident of Rai Pur Gujran village complained to the police that the accused barged into his house on November 7, 2024, and stole his motorcycle ((PB-08-CY 5115) and two garlic bags lying nearby.
IO said a case under section 331(4) (lurking house-trespass) and 305 (theft in dwelling house) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and his accomplice Buta Singh son of Gurdep Singh a resident of Chhohale village.
