Gurnam Singh Jakhu of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was elected president of the Bilga Nagar Panchayat (NP) here today while Sandeep Singh was elected senior vice president and Parwindar Singh was elected vice president. All three councillors received ten votes each to win. The AAP has the majority in a house of thirteen.
All newly elected councillors were sworn in at today’s council meeting. Nakodar SDM Lal Vishwas Bains conducted the proceedings.
Nakodar MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann was present at the meeting.
