The Shahkot police have arrested the father of a youth on the charge of helping in kidnapping a minor.
The investigating officer (IO) Sarwann Singh said the accused had been identified as Amarjit Singh father of Parmindar Singh a resident of Bau Pur village.
Gurcharan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused helped his son kidnap his minor daughter on September 26 by inducing on the pretext of marriage.
IO said that a case under sections 137(2) 363 (kidnapping),96(procuration of child), and 3(5) (committing a crime with the common intention) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
