The Bilga police have booked sixteen persons on the charges of assaulting a villager.
Investigating Officer (IO) Dalwara Singh said that the accused have been identified as Lov Preet Singh, Gainav alias Ranjha residents of Aujla village, Baljit, Jasdeep residents of Bilga village, and their twelve unidentified accomplices.
Tanpreet Singh a resident of Hoshiar Pur district and presently living in Aujla village complained to the police that the accused attacked him and his two relatives on November 7 in the playground with weapons, seriously injured and threatened him.
IO said a case under sections 115(2),117(2) 118(1) 118(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons or means ) 191 (3)(rioting ) and 190(unlawful assembly ) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
