NAKODAR

The Nakodar City police have arrested two miscreants on the charge of attacking a police officer.

Investigating officer (IO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused had been identified as Mandeep Singh, son of

Jaspal Singh, and Bhagat Veer Singh, son of Gurjit Singh, residents of Meera Pur village.

Assistant Sub Inspector of traffic staff in Jalandhar (rural) Amrik Singh had said in his statement that he was on duty with his staff near Sharak Pur village on Shankar-Nakodar Road and was checking vehicles and their drivers with Alcolmeter.

He said that the accused Mandeep Singh came driving his scooter from Shankar village side in an inebriated condition and when he tried to check the accused with Alcometer accused started misbehaving with police and used abusive language and phoned other accused who reached the spot and attacked him, and his colleagues tore their uniforms snatched a smartphone and threatened them. 

 

 IO said a case under sections 115(2)(voluntary causing hurt)221(obstructing public servant in discharge of

public function ),132(assault or criminal; force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty 121(1)

(voluntarily causing grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty )309(4) (robbery ) 351(2) (criminal

ntimidation ) 191(3)(rioting ) and 190(unlawful assembly of the BNS was registered against the accused and

six others.
