In a crackdown on theft and drug trafficking, the Jalandhar Rural Police have arrested two accused involved in separate cases of motorcycle theft and drug smuggling. The recoveries include 03 stolen motorcycles, six mobile phones, 10 grams of heroin, and 105 narcotic pills, said Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Rural Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, PPS, here on Sunday.
Those arrested have been identified as Ashok Sandhu, a resident of Rurka Khurd, and Charanjit Singh alias Channi, also from Rurka Khurd. Both have extensive criminal histories and were involved in multiple offenses across the district.
“The timely action by the police has not only resolved two significant cases but also delivered a strong message to criminals in the region. Investigations are ongoing to uncover accomplices and dismantle these criminal networks,” said SSP Khakh.
The arrested accused have been booked under sections 304(snatching ) , 303(2)(theft) , and 317(2) (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 21/22/61/85of the NDPS Act.
